The person speaking has grasped the power, and he's using it to "guide" the actions of both Eren and Ymir. In my interpretation, it's safe to assume that "wings" symbolize the power. Interesting note: Eren would have wings in this song, Ymir would have wings in this song, the person speaking would have wings in this song. The person speaking will help Eren (or Ymir) fulfill their dream. If we take into account the previous verses, roses (flowers) symbolize the dream that Eren (or Ymir) is unable to grasp even in death. The person speaking tells Ymir that he will make sure to use his "wings" to reach the sky after having seized the "roses" for her. I'll seize the roses with my wings we'll fly. It's so far away to reach out to the sky. The person speaking would be suddenly referering only to Ymir.
In my interpretation, the person speaking tells Eren (or Ymir) to grow (to live) until the trunk of the tree of light is big enough to serve a purpose (the 13 year curse, perhaps?). In my view, this is a reference to the tree of light. But something weird happened in this verse: the person speaking tells Eren (or Ymir) to grow into the "edge of light". Zeke dying, seeing flowers, Ymir dying, seeing flowers. "Death and flowers" have been 2 themes that Isayama has merged together in multiple occasions. The person speaking insists that Eren (or Ymir at this point?) "fly". If we take into account the previous verse, the person speaking is telling Eren to go into the paths world like Ymir, and to embrace eternity there. (We can establish that Eren is the unknown someone).Įmbrace eternity like a goddess into the starry night. The person speaking calls the unknown someone a "fallen angel": a "fallen angel" is the recurrent reference to a hero who became a villain. The person talking starts speaking about the paths world, telling the unknown someone to dive into the flow of time. Like a fallen angel, fall and flow into the wind of time. The person talking tells that someone to "sleep" and "fly", after having killed so many people. Like this, you will dream and open your bloodstained wings. The person speaking would be reviewing memories in the paths world. The scarlet night would be the night in which the final battle takes place, while the dark being covered would be the potential fact of everything happening in the paths world (the story we're watching being a set of memories playing in the paths world from beginning to end).
Then, the one speaking then tells that someone to die. Like the scarlet night veiling the dark, you can hide your fear you can lie, my dear.Īt night, the one speaking tells someone to hide their fear ("real feelings") amidst the blood left behind in a massacre. Keep in mind that this is only my interpretation it's not an official statement in any case. The most savage, if we consider that they expressively tell you "We'll be the end!" just "because", and out of nowhere. I was going to post this as a reply to someone in response to my having stated that Red Swan opening (the whole song, rather than the 1m30s opening) would be the most amazing foreshadowing in the series.
